We've hosted many weddings over the years but have never witnessed a proposal, we would love to though! What better way to create your own historic moment than being surrounded by Caithness history?!
A popular artifact with brides, grooms and families when they visit is the marriage stone - a lintel, removed from a property in Thurso’s High Street. The inscription is rumoured to record a 1728 marriage between ‘AM’ and ‘EM’, with the additional initials ‘IM’ thought to represent the happy couple’s only child. A visit to see the stone is sure to set you up for a lifetime of happiness.
