Call for Submissions: 3D North

Caithness Horizons Museum and Art Gallery is a centre for arts, culture and heritage located on the north coast of Scotland in the most northerly mainland town of Thurso. Our next exhibition is called 3D North and we would love you to consider being a part of it.

The exhibition will take place from 10th November- 22nd December 2018.

Deadline for submissions are by 27th October and a submission form is attached to this email if you would like to put artwork in for exhibition. Places are limited so preference will be given on a first come first served basis, and ideally artwork should delivered to Caithness Horizons by that date also. However, feel free to contact me if you have any queries, and we can work around you.

All work must be for sale. There is a charge of £3 per art work or £8 per 4 submissions. Commission rate is 35%

Please be aware that  whilst every care will be taken with your artwork, our gallery does not have a member of staff sitting in it, although we regularly monitor the gallery and museum. We therefore urge artists to personally insure their own work where appropriate.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns or queries about this, or specific guidelines for exhibiting your work.

We are all greatly looking forward to exhibiting a range of 3D work from textiles, glass, ceramics , wood and much more; - I am  excited to be having this exhibition opportunity to bring together so much talent and creative energy.

3D North will coincide with a busy time of the year for Caithness Horizons, which includes our Christmas celebrations, WW1 commemorative display and talks, some exciting workshops with  Ian Pearson and  Jackie Newton, culminating, of course, with our 10 year birthday celebrations.!

There will also be opportunities for workshop delivery during the exhibition. Please state in your submission if you would be interested in delivering a workshop.

An afternoon opening event will take place for the exhibition, and is planned for Saturday 10th November 2018. The exhibition will be marketed extensively through social media and all appropriate platforms.

If you are interested in submitting work to this exhibition please email the attached submission form to preferably with some images attached as jpeg format.
