Educational Visits To Caithness Horizons Museum

Caithness Horizons welcomes both primary and secondary school visits. The Museum offers led workshops on the key elements of its Collection: Picts, Vikings, Robert Dick and Dounreay.  Schools are also welcome on self-guided visits.  Please note that we offer educational visits free of charge to schools, we simply ask that you call ahead to plan your visit with us.

If pre-arranged, we can offer a facility for pupils to enjoy their snack before heading off back to school or we can provide pupils with a snack from our Cafe for an additional charge.

What options are available for a visit?

Schools can choose to visit the Museum as:

  • A self-guided visit
  • A self-guided visit with a handling box
