Caithness Horizons is home to a permanent collection that tells the story of the county of Caithness from 416 million years ago to the present day. For free and for one day only each month, join Caithness Horizons Volunteer, Wendy Newton as she guides you through some of the museum’s most important objects including the original Dounreay Materials Test Reactor (DMTR), the Robert Dick Herbarium, the Flow Country and our fascinating Pictish Stones.
The tour which will last approx 1 hour will give you a great in-depth introduction to our incredible exhibits, allowing you time to revisit your favourite exhibit! This is a tour not to be missed. The tour is free but donations are welcome. Wendy will be waiting at Reception at 11.00am and 1.30pm.
